Back to the Beginning

In 1998, a friend asked me to to some photography work for him, and I was very reluctant to accept. Photography had always been a hobby for me, but now there was pressure and expectations. Everyone had told me, "You can't make money as a photographer..." so it wasn’t in my plans. The job went well, though. And I realized I had been listening to my doubts for too long. At the time Anne Geddes was taking photos of babies and pumpkins and I thought, "If she can make it, why can't I?" That’s when I started pursuing photography as a career. 23 years later, I’ve never looked back. Photography has taken me from Australia to the Himilayas, Canada, Mexico, Africa, Amsterdam, the Dominican Republic, Germany, and most of the United States. My life has been abundantly blessed by a decision to step into the unknown and take a chance. What would you try if you knew you couldn't fail?
